The 2025 Mahindra Bolero continues to evolve as one of India’s most enduring SUV nameplates. While the top-spec B8 variant has grabbed headlines for its premium upgrades, the 1-above-base B6 variant is now being showcased in real-world images, revealing how it balances ruggedness with practical features at an affordable price.
Exterior Design: Subtle Upgrades on the B6
The Bolero B6 closely resembles the B8 in overall styling but misses some premium touches. Key updates include:
- A new five-slat grille with chrome inserts (from B6 onwards)
- Clear-lens headlamps consistent across all variants
- 15-inch steel wheels with covers
- Side steps and fender-mounted turn indicators available from the base
- Rear profile featuring clear-lens LED tail lamps, a vertically opening tailgate, and a spare wheel housed in a branded bracket
Lower trims like the B6 lack front fog lamps and a rear wiper, which are available only in the higher B6(O) and B8 trims.
Interior and Comfort Features
Inside, the B6 variant offers fabric upholstery, compared to vinyl in the base B4 and leatherette in the B8. It retains the 7-seat layout with side-facing jump seats in the last row.
Other features include:
- 12V charging socket, USB Type-C port, and power windows
- Manual AC and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto)
- Map pockets, bottle holders, and power steering for convenience
- Safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS, seatbelt reminders, and rear parking sensors
Engine and Performance
No changes have been made to the engine lineup. The 2025 Bolero B6 retains the familiar:
- 1.5-litre diesel engine
- 75 PS power and 210 Nm torque
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Rear-wheel drive (RWD)
Pricing and Rivals
The B6 variant is priced at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), while the full range spans Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 9.69 lakh.
Though the Bolero does not have direct rivals, it competes with sub-4m SUVs such as:
- Renault Kiger
- Skoda Kylaq
- Kia Sonet
- Maruti Brezza
- Tata Nexon
- Mahindra XUV 3XO
It also matches similarly priced variants of micro SUVs like the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch.
With GST rate cuts, festive discounts are available across Mahindra’s lineup, making this a good time to consider the Bolero or other Mahindra SUVs like the updated Thar 3-door.
