Honda's E-Clutch technology

2026 Honda Rebel 300 Gets E-Clutch – Two Colour Options

Honda E-Clutch was first introduced with CB650R and CBR650R. While it’s a new tech, Honda has ensured that it can be fitted with existing engines without major tweaks. Other Honda bikes with the E-Clutch include the Rebel 250 and CL250. Honda has now introduced the E-Clutch with the 2026 Rebel 300 in the United States. Prices start at USD 5,349 (Rs 4.70 lakh).

With Honda E-Clutch, users can change gears without engaging the handlebar-mounted clutch. However, riders accustomed to clutch use or who want a more responsive feel can still use the clutch. It’s the user’s choice to shift gears clutchlessly or manually. The E-Clutch also acts as a quick-shifter, allowing clutchless, full-throttle gear changes.

Users do not have to operate any buttons to switch between automated and manual clutch modes. E-Clutch automatically senses the rider’s action. The bike runs smoothly without stalling in both modes. It defaults to clutchless mode, shifts to manual when the clutch lever is used, and returns clutchless when released, preventing rider confusion.

The E-Clutch benefits both new and experienced riders by eliminating engine stalls caused by incorrect clutch use. It functions flawlessly from startup through riding and stopping, making riding safer and more enjoyable since riders can focus more on controlling the bike than clutch operation. This is especially helpful for beginners.

Besides the E-Clutch, the 2026 Rebel 300 remains unchanged. It comes in Pearl Smoky Gray and Matte Black Metallic. Design highlights include a round headlight, color-matched fenders, teardrop fuel tank, and all-black exhaust.

The bike has a 286 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 25 hp and 23.86 Nm torque. It uses a 6-speed manual transmission integrated with the E-Clutch. Suspension features 41 mm front forks and dual rear shocks. Braking includes 296 mm front and 240 mm rear discs.

Both wheels measure 16 inches, with 130/90 front and 150/80 rear tires. The low 690 mm seat height delivers great control and handling. The E-Clutch implementation raised the US price by $500 (Rs 44,000); the MY25 model was priced at $4,849 (Rs 4.26 lakh).
