Second-Generation Kia Telluride SUV Revealed with Complete Redesign

Second-Generation Kia Telluride SUV Revealed with Complete Redesign

Kia has officially revealed the second-generation Telluride, its flagship SUV for global markets. This all-new model gets a comprehensive design overhaul both inside and out, bringing it in line with Kia’s latest design philosophy.

Design and Dimensions

The new Telluride sports a bolder and boxier profile than before, showcasing a stronger SUV stance. It features a larger all-black grille with rectangular detailing, flanked by elongated headlamps housing vertically stacked LED DRLs that double as turn indicators. A redesigned front bumper with orange tow hooks adds rugged appeal.

In profile, the SUV retains its signature boxy silhouette but gains flush-type door handles for a sleeker look — a first for the Telluride lineup. The top-spec X-Pro trim rides on all-terrain tyres, while other variants use road-focused rubber. The rear design now features elongated LED tail lamps, a clean tailgate, and matching orange tow hooks at the back.

In terms of size, the length and wheelbase have increased by 58mm and 76mm, respectively, while height is up by 25mm, ensuring more interior space and presence.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Telluride gets a major design revamp with a minimalist dual-tone dashboard and a three-screen setup, similar to what’s seen in the new Kia Syros. A new three-spoke steering wheel with the offset Kia logo complements the tech-oriented cabin.

A large centre armrest integrates cupholders, a hidden storage cubby, and a cooled compartment. The SUV continues to offer seven seats, with captain chairs in the middle row. Both first and second-row seats feature powered adjustments for enhanced comfort.

The equipment list includes a single-pane sunroof for front passengers, a panoramic sunroof for the rear, dual wireless chargers, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS features for safety and convenience.

Powertrain

While Kia has yet to confirm engine options, the previous generation used a 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine producing 291hp and 355Nm, paired with AWD — a configuration expected to continue.

The Telluride is primarily sold in North America and select Middle Eastern markets like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman. It will make its public debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show (November 21–30).

Competitors include the Mazda CX-90, Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota Highlander.
