Defender Journeys 2026 Bookings Open for 23 New Routes

JLR India has begun accepting bookings for the 2026 Defender Journeys, the fourth edition of its luxury self-drive adventure programme. Starting in January 2026, the curated expeditions offer participants the chance to explore some of India’s most breathtaking and demanding landscapes from behind the wheel of a Land Rover Defender.

The programme remains open to everyone — ownership of a Defender is not required, as all vehicles are provided by the organisers under a full-service package.

Route Options and Pricing

The 2026 edition features 23 curated routes that cover major adventure regions across India, including:

  • Kutch
  • Zanskar Valley
  • UmLing La Pass
  • Ladakh
  • Spiti Valley
  • Siliguri Corridor

Each itinerary combines structured driving with cultural experiences, local exploration, and guided activities.

Package Price

₹5.5 lakh per couple, which includes:

  • Flights
  • Accommodation
  • All meals
  • Guided itineraries
  • Support staff
  • Use of an event-prepared Defender

Vehicles Used: Defender 110 Fleet

Participants will drive specially equipped Defender 110 SUVs. While Land Rover sells the Defender in 90, 110, and 130 body styles in India, the self-drive programme exclusively uses the Defender 110 for its balance of capability, comfort, and practicality.

Each convoy is supported by trained staff handling:

  • Route management
  • Mechanical and vehicle assistance
  • Safety protocols
  • Daily logistics

This ensures the programme remains accessible even to participants with minimal off-road experience.

Driving Conditions and Capability Highlights

The Defender Journeys routes are curated to demonstrate the SUV’s off-road ability and long-distance comfort. The Defender 110s provided are equipped with:

  • All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Terrain Response off-road modes

Participants will traverse diverse and challenging terrain including:

  • High-altitude passes
  • Desert trails
  • Broken rural roads
  • Soft sand stretches
  • Loose gravel paths

These routes showcase the Defender’s rugged capability while offering participants a controlled, guided adventure.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director of Defender, stated:

“Defender Journeys is the ultimate expression of the Defender brand’s DNA. The Defender is known for going anywhere and doing anything, and this programme gives adventure-seekers the chance to experience its full potential while exploring India’s most formidable terrains.”

Defender Pricing in India

Although the Journeys programme uses only the 110 variant, the broader Defender range in India includes the:
