Honda’s popular compact sedan, the Amaze, has achieved an impressive safety milestone in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests conducted in 2025. The model has secured a full 5-star rating in Adult Occupant Protection and a strong 4-star rating in Child Occupant Protection. These ratings apply uniformly to the V, VX and ZX variants, across both manual and CVT versions manufactured in India, confirming consistent safety engineering throughout the lineup.
In the Adult Occupant Protection assessment, the Amaze delivered a score of 28.33 out of 32. During the frontal offset crash test, the sedan achieved 14.33 out of 16, demonstrating strong energy absorption and cabin integrity. The side impact evaluation resulted in an equally solid 14 out of 16, showcasing the structural strength of the side panels and occupant protection systems. Honda’s decision to equip the Amaze with essential features such as dual front airbags, curtain airbags, load limiters, seatbelt pre-tensioners and electronic stability control played a crucial role in ensuring stable crash behaviour. The tested model weighed 1,241 kg, confirming structural consistency across all variants.
In the Child Occupant Protection category, the Amaze scored 40.81 out of 49. The dynamic crash test performance was exceptionally strong with 23.81 out of 24, showing excellent restraint and protection levels for child dummies. The child restraint system installation earned a perfect score of 12 out of 12, thanks to the presence of ISOFIX anchor points and clear CRS compatibility. The remaining points came from the vehicle assessment criteria, which further contributed to the Amaze’s strong overall rating.
One of the highlights of the Amaze’s 2025 BNCAP evaluation is that Honda equips the sedan with a uniform safety package right from the base variant. Features such as ESC, curtain airbags, pedestrian protection mechanisms, seatbelt reminders and dedicated child seat anchor points are standard across the range. This consistent equipment strategy significantly strengthened the Amaze’s performance in the assessments.
The safety landscape in the compact sedan segment is becoming increasingly competitive. The Honda Amaze now stands alongside its closest rival, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which has also achieved a 5-star BNCAP rating. With both models securing top-tier scores, Indian buyers now have safer and more robust choices in the sub-four-metre sedan category. Honda’s latest result reinforces its reputation for structural integrity, reliability and occupant protection—key attributes that continue to resonate strongly with family car buyers and first-time sedan owners.
