Tata Leads EV Sales in November 2025 with 6,153 Units Sold

Tata Motors has once again secured its position as India’s top-selling electric vehicle manufacturer for November 2025. As per the latest data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), Tata retailed 6,153 EVs last month, reflecting a strong 38% year-on-year growth compared to November 2024, when it sold 4,489 units.

However, the brand did record a month-on-month decline. In October 2025, Tata sold 7,239 EVs, meaning November saw a 15% decrease. This dip is largely attributed to the elongated festive season this year, which pushed higher consumer demand into September and October, resulting in softer sales in November across multiple brands.

Rivals Closing In: MG and Mahindra Show Strong Performance

MG Motor – Second Place

  • EV retail sales in November 2025: 3,693 units
  • Year-on-year growth: 10.3%

MG maintains a solid hold on the premium EV segment with products like the ZS EV, Select lineup, and Cyberster, helping it retain the second position.

Mahindra – Rapid Climb to Third Place

  • EV retail sales: 2,956 units
  • Year-on-year growth: 408.7%

Mahindra’s staggering growth is a result of its expanding electric lineup. In November 2024, the brand had no major EVs apart from the XUV400. Today, its portfolio includes:

  • XUV400
  • XEV 9e
  • BE 6
  • Newly launched XEV 9S

This wide-ranging, next-generation EV lineup has given Mahindra a substantial boost in market share.

Why Tata Continues to Dominate the EV Market

Tata’s leadership can be attributed to its broad and strategically positioned EV portfolio. The company currently offers six electric models, spanning entry-level hatchbacks to mid-premium SUVs with a price range difference of nearly ₹20 lakh. This enables Tata to cater to diverse buyer segments, from first-time EV users to tech-savvy urban customers.

Tata’s EV lineup includes:

  • Tiago EV
  • Tigor EV
  • Punch EV
  • Altroz EV
  • Nexon EV
  • Harrier EV

The portfolio will expand further with the highly anticipated Sierra EV, expected to launch in the last quarter of FY26. This new addition could help Tata reinforce its segment leadership at a time when competition is intensifying.
