Maserati has taken a major step into the electric SUV market with the Grecale Folgore, marking the brand’s first fully electric SUV and a significant milestone in its shift toward electrified performance vehicles. Officially revealed in March 2024 and arriving in markets like India in late 2025, the Grecale Folgore blends Italian luxury with EV power and cutting-edge technology.
The Grecale Folgore is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces around 550 hp and 820 Nm of torque, enabling a sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h—impressive figures for a mid-size electric SUV. The heart of the vehicle is a 105 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of up to 501 km on a single charge, making it competitive among performance-oriented EVs. Charging support includes up to 22 kW AC and 150 kW DC fast charging, which can replenish a significant portion of the battery in a short time.
In India, Maserati has priced the Grecale Folgore at around ₹1.89 crore (ex-showroom), positioning it alongside high-end internal-combustion Grecale trims while offering a fully electric alternative for luxury SUV buyers. This pricing places the electric SUV just below the range-topping petrol-powered Trofeo variant but above some of its performance-oriented rivals, underscoring Maserati’s premium positioning in the segment.
Visually, the Folgore retains the distinctive proportions and design language of the conventional Grecale range, with subtle EV-specific touches such as aerodynamic wheels, Folgore badging, and unique brake calipers that help differentiate it from its petrol siblings. The interior largely mirrors the familiar Grecale cabin but integrates EV-specific features and digital interfaces that reflect its high-tech powertrain.
The launch of the Grecale Folgore signals Maserati’s broader commitment to electrification, expanding its lineup with models that balance performance, luxury, and electric efficiency. As premium electric SUVs continue to gain traction globally, the Grecale Folgore represents a key entry for the Italian brand in the fast-evolving EV landscape.
