Lexus ES 2026 Brings Hybrid and Electric Options to Luxury Sedan Segment

Lexus has revealed the 8th-generation ES, bringing a major change to its luxury sedan lineup. For the first time, the 2026 ES offers a battery-electric option alongside upgraded hybrids. This all-electrified approach shows Lexus’ commitment to carbon neutrality while giving buyers both efficiency and performance.

The hybrid lineup includes the ES 300h and ES 350h, both powered by 2.5-liter engines with improved hybrid batteries. The new battery-electric models are the ES 350e, featuring front-wheel drive, and the ES 500e with all-wheel drive and DIRECT4 technology. The electric models offer a WLTP range of up to 530 kilometers (around 330 miles). The ES 500e can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Fast charging lets the battery go from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes, making longer trips more convenient.

The 2026 ES is bigger and more spacious than before. The sedan is 165 mm longer overall and has an 80 mm longer wheelbase, creating more room inside. Lexus has embraced its “Clean Tech x Elegance” design language, with a flowing spindle body, connected LED tail lights, and a modern, sophisticated cabin. Inside, there’s a 14-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, and “Hidden Tech” controls that appear only when the car is on. Safety has been upgraded as well, with the ES being the first model to feature Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.

With its hybrid and electric options, long-range capability, luxurious interior, and advanced technology, the 2026 Lexus ES sets a new standard for luxury sedans. It offers buyers a perfect balance of performance, comfort, and modern electric efficiency.
