The Telangana government has launched the E-Scooter Scheme 2026 to make travel more affordable, eco-friendly, and accessible. The scheme mainly supports youth, women, and minority communities by helping them buy electric scooters at a much lower cost.
A major highlight of the scheme is its strong subsidy support. Under the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation, eligible minority youth can get up to 80 percent subsidy on electric scooters. This means they only need to pay the remaining 20 percent. For some disadvantaged communities, the government is even offering up to 100 percent subsidy on e-bikes, making them completely free.
The scheme also focuses on women’s mobility. The government is planning to provide free or subsidised e-scooters to college-going girls and working women. This step aims to improve safety, independence, and access to education and jobs.
The eligibility criteria are simple. Most applicants should be between 21 and 40 years old, though some categories allow up to 55 years. Basic documents like Aadhaar card, Food Security Card, driving license, and educational certificates are required. Interested candidates can apply easily at nearby Mee Seva centres.
The benefits go beyond just buying a vehicle. Electric scooters help save money on fuel and require less maintenance. They also reduce pollution, making cities cleaner and healthier.
Overall, the Telangana E-Scooter Scheme 2026 is a practical and people-friendly initiative. It not only supports affordable transport but also promotes self-reliance and green mobility. This move clearly shows the state’s commitment to a cleaner and more inclusive future.
