BYD has officially revealed its latest compact SUV for Europe — the Atto 2 DM-i, featuring the brand’s Super Hybrid technology. The new model delivers an electric-only driving range of 90km and an impressive combined range of up to 1,020km, blending long-distance capability with efficient hybrid performance.
Electric Efficiency with Hybrid Flexibility
The Atto 2 DM-i builds upon BYD’s popular Seal U DM-i, bringing a similar powertrain concept to the compact SUV category. The advanced hybrid setup intelligently switches between electric and petrol power, optimizing performance and efficiency. This system promises a smoother, more EV-like driving experience while outperforming mild-hybrid and traditional petrol counterparts in both range and refinement.
Design and Variants
BYD will offer the Atto 2 DM-i in two variants, each featuring different battery capacities, power outputs, and range figures to suit varying customer needs. Visually, the DM-i stands apart from its all-electric sibling with a larger front grille, redesigned bumpers, and distinctive DM-i badging, emphasizing its hybrid identity.
European Launch and Availability
The Atto 2 DM-i will make its European debut this week, with pre-sales expected to begin soon and deliveries scheduled for early 2026. With its combination of long range, hybrid versatility, and modern design, the new SUV is set to strengthen BYD’s presence in the European market.
