Lamborghini has unveiled the Temerario Super Trofeo design concept, offering a bold preview of the next-generation machine that will lead its customer racing program from 2027. The striking new model succeeds the Huracán Super Trofeo, which has been the backbone of Lamborghini’s global one-make racing championships for nearly a decade.
The debut took place during the Lamborghini World Finals weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where the brand’s motorsport division, Squadra Corse, presented what it calls “a vision for the future of customer racing.”
The Next Chapter in Lamborghini’s Racing Heritage
The Temerario Super Trofeo marks the sixth-generation race car developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, founded in 2013. It continues a proud lineage that began with the Gallardo Super Trofeo and evolved through multiple generations of the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo and Evo2.
With over 1,300 drivers participating in Super Trofeo championships across Europe, North America, and Asia, Lamborghini’s customer racing ecosystem has become one of the most successful in the world — offering both professional and amateur racers a gateway into high-level GT competition.
At the unveiling, Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, emphasized the significance of the new chapter:
“Lamborghini was not born as a racing brand, yet our customers have always sought products designed for the track. The Super Trofeo has become a global success story, and with the Temerario, we aim to set new standards for customer motorsport performance and innovation.”
Derived from the Temerario GT3: Track-Bred Evolution
The Temerario Super Trofeo is directly derived from the recently introduced Temerario GT3, which debuted at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed and will make its racing debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2026.
While the GT3 version is tailored for top-tier endurance racing, the Super Trofeo variant has been optimized for one-make racing, focusing on accessibility, durability, and cost efficiency — without compromising on raw performance.
Under the hood, the new Super Trofeo will house a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine, producing approximately 641hp (650PS). Based on the same engine family as the GT3 racer, this makes it one of the most powerful and technically advanced customer racing cars Lamborghini has ever produced.
Design: Function Sculpted by Aerodynamics
Visually, the Temerario Super Trofeo is pure Lamborghini — dramatic, angular, and unmistakably Italian — yet every surface serves an aerodynamic purpose.

Key Design Highlights:
- Wide, flared arches to accommodate racing slicks and enhance lateral grip.
- Active aero elements, including an adjustable rear wing and vented bonnet for improved downforce balance.
- Lightweight carbon-fibre monocoque ensuring maximum rigidity and minimal mass.
- Track-optimized diffuser and side skirts for enhanced stability at high speeds.
Inside, the cockpit reflects Lamborghini’s race-first philosophy, featuring a GT3-derived multifunction steering wheel, digital telemetry display, and FIA-compliant safety cage and harness system.
All systems, including traction control, ABS calibration, and electronic differentials, have been fine-tuned for the Super Trofeo series, ensuring predictable handling for both professional and gentleman drivers.
Super Trofeo 2027: A New Era of Competition
The Temerario Super Trofeo will make its racing debut in 2027, replacing the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2 as the official car for Lamborghini’s global one-make championships.
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo series — held across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific — will continue to serve as a critical development platform for emerging drivers aiming to graduate to GT3 and endurance racing categories, including the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and IMSA SportsCar Championship.
A Legacy of Innovation and Passion
Lamborghini’s evolution of the Super Trofeo platform underscores its long-term commitment to motorsport and customer racing. While the company is best known for its road-going supercars, Squadra Corse has established itself as a core pillar of the brand, blending extreme performance engineering with the visceral excitement of competitive racing.
The Temerario lineup — both GT3 and Super Trofeo — represents Lamborghini’s dual motorsport strategy: combining factory-backed endurance racing with accessible customer racing, all while paving the way for the brand’s hybrid and electrified future later this decade.
Verdict: The Future of Lamborghini’s Racing DNA
The Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo is more than a new race car — it’s the embodiment of the brand’s next phase in motorsport evolution. With its GT3-derived chassis, advanced aerodynamics, and blistering twin-turbo V8 performance, it is set to redefine the standard for one-make racing machines.
When it roars onto the grid in 2027, the Temerario Super Trofeo won’t just replace the Huracán — it will usher in a new era of Lamborghini racing, uniting power, precision, and Italian passion on circuits around the world.
