Mahindra Racing Gears Up for ABB FIA Formula E Season 12 with the M12Electro

Mahindra Racing is all set to charge into ABB FIA Formula E Season 12 with its brand-new electric challenger, the M12Electro. As one of the few teams to have participated in every Formula E season since its inception, Mahindra continues its legacy of innovation, speed, and sustainability under the banner of #ScreamElectric.

A Decade of Electric Racing Excellence

Mahindra Racing joined Formula E during its inaugural season in 2014–15, long before many global carmakers embraced electric mobility. The early years were a phase of experimentation—understanding how to manage electric power efficiently on narrow, high-pressure street circuits.

The breakthrough came in the 2016–17 and 2017–18 seasons, when drivers Felix Rosenqvist and Nick Heidfeld secured Mahindra’s first Formula E victory, multiple podium finishes, and even a brief lead in the drivers’ championship. For an Indian automaker, this marked a monumental achievement—proving its engineering excellence on the global EV stage.

From Race Track to Road Cars

Mahindra’s Formula E journey isn’t just about trophies; it’s a testbed for real-world EV innovation. Data gathered from races—covering battery performance, energy regeneration, inverter loads, and thermal management—is applied directly to enhance Mahindra’s road-going electric vehicles.

This technology transfer helps deliver smoother acceleration, better cooling, and more efficient regenerative braking in everyday driving, showcasing how motorsport intelligence fuels real-world advancements.

Season 12: New Car, New Energy

For Season 12, Mahindra retains its talented driver lineup of Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara, with India’s Kush Maini continuing as the reserve driver.

Their new machine, the M12Electro, debuts an eye-catching metallic red, gloss white, and carbon black livery accented by 12 symbolic stripes, celebrating 12 years of Mahindra’s Formula E journey.

The car is lighter, faster, and more efficient than before—boasting a top speed of 320 km/h, 470 BHP of power, and a weight of just 840 kg. Designed for peak performance, it’s ready to dominate on the global stage.

The Road Ahead

Season 12 kicks off in São Paulo, Brazil, on December 6, 2025, featuring 17 rounds that will continue through August 2026. As Mahindra chases more podiums and victories, fans worldwide are invited to rally behind the team and join the electric revolution.
