Mahindra has released a fresh teaser for its upcoming electric SUV, the XEV 9S, revealing key interior upgrades and technology features. With its India debut set for 27 November, anticipation is building for what will be Mahindra’s first three-row electric SUV.
What the New Teaser Reveals
The latest teaser highlights several premium in-cabin features, including:
- Harman Kardon audio system
- Triple-screen dashboard layout
- All-black interior theme
- Window and mirror controls positioned on the door pad
- Driver’s seat with memory function
- Dedicated AC vents for second-row passengers
These touches suggest a strong focus on tech, comfort, and an upscale cabin experience.
Mahindra’s First Three-Row EV
The XEV 9S marks Mahindra’s entry into the three-row electric SUV space. Initially showcased as the XUV.e8 and later referred to as the XEV 7e, the final production model is built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, a dedicated EV architecture for future models.
Though it shares some design elements with the XUV700, the XEV 9S has been developed from the ground up as a born-electric SUV.
Powertrain: What to Expect
Based on what we’ve seen from its coupe-styled sibling, the XEV 9e, the XEV 9S is expected to feature:
- 282 bhp / 380 Nm electric motor
- LFP battery pack
- Rear-wheel-drive setup (expected)
These specifications indicate that the XEV 9S will leverage the INGLO platform for strong performance, efficiency, and range.
Expected Price and Rivals
Mahindra is likely to price the XEV 9S between ₹21 lakh and ₹30 lakh, positioning it against:
- Tata Harrier EV
- BYD eMAX 7
