Maruti Suzuki Achieves Three Crore Domestic Sales Milestone

Maruti Suzuki has achieved a historic milestone by surpassing three crore cumulative domestic sales in India — a feat accomplished in just 42 years of operations. With this, Maruti Suzuki becomes the first automaker in India to reach this landmark, further cementing its position as the country’s leading car manufacturer.

The company’s sales journey reflects its steady growth and enduring popularity. Maruti Suzuki achieved its first crore sales in 28 years and two months, followed by the second crore in just seven years and five months. Impressively, the third crore was reached in a record six years and four months, demonstrating the brand’s growing customer base and strong market trust.

Among the three crore units sold, the Alto leads as Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling model with over 47 lakh units, followed by the Wagon R (34 lakh) and Swift (32 lakh). Other popular models such as the Brezza and Fronx also feature among the top 10 best-sellers in the company’s lineup of 19 models currently available in India.

Commenting on this achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said,

“When I think of 3 crore customers across India who have placed their trust in Maruti Suzuki, it fills me with humility and gratitude. Yet, with car penetration at around 33 vehicles per 1,000 people, our journey is far from over.
