Maruti Victoris CBG Variant to Debut at Tokyo Motor Show 2025

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to showcase a special CBG (Compressed Bio-Gas) variant of the Victoris SUV at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show 2025, also known as the Japan Mobility Show. Scheduled from October 30 to November 9, the event will feature several made-in-India models from Suzuki’s global lineup, with the Victoris CBG taking centre stage.

The Maruti Victoris, launched in India in September 2025, is currently offered with petrol, hybrid, and CNG powertrains. With the addition of the CBG option, it could become one of India’s most versatile SUVs in terms of fuel and powertrain diversity.

About the Maruti Victoris CBG

The Victoris CBG will likely use the same 1.5-litre petrol engine found in the CNG variant but modified to run on Compressed Bio-Gas. CBG is a renewable, eco-friendly fuel produced from organic waste materials such as crop residue and animal manure. Unlike CNG, which comes from fossil fuels, CBG contributes to lower carbon emissions, promotes waste management, and helps generate rural employment.

Initially, the Victoris CBG will be unveiled as a prototype in Japan before Maruti evaluates its commercial viability for the Indian market. If launched, it could position the Victoris as a benchmark in sustainable mobility, combining performance, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
