Nissan has officially unveiled the fourth-generation Elgrand at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, taking direct aim at the Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM. Slated for a Japan launch in Q3 2026, the all-new Elgrand represents a complete design and technology overhaul for Nissan’s flagship MPV.
Bold New Design
While retaining its signature boxy silhouette, the new Elgrand adopts Nissan’s latest Hyper Tourer-inspired design language. The front features a striking light bar with pixel-style detailing, and the rear sports a clean, minimalist look with a wide LED strip stretching across the tailgate. Sliding rear doors continue to provide ease of access, emphasizing practicality and luxury.
Premium Cabin
Inside, the Elgrand exudes opulence with a purple-and-black interior, captain seats in the second row, and three-row seating. The dashboard features dual 14.3-inch displays, a two-spoke steering wheel, and button-based gear selection, highlighting its futuristic approach to luxury and technology.
Powertrain and Features
While Nissan hasn’t disclosed complete specifications, the new Elgrand will debut hybrid powertrain options and introduce the brand’s advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive and ProPILOT ADAS systems — making it Nissan’s first model to combine these technologies.
Rivals and Market Position
The Elgrand will go up against the Toyota Vellfire, Kia Carnival, Lexus LM, and MG M9 in global markets. With the rising demand for luxury MPVs in India, especially among business and film elites, Nissan may consider introducing the Elgrand locally to strengthen its premium image.
