Toyota has officially revealed the Land Cruiser FJ, a new compact SUV that joins the legendary Land Cruiser family. Set to make its first public appearance at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, the Land Cruiser FJ is slated for launch in Japan by mid-2026.
Compact Yet Capable
The new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is built on a platform derived from Toyota’s proven IMV series, blending durability with modern engineering. Despite its smaller footprint — featuring a wheelbase 270mm shorter than the Land Cruiser 250 — it promises exceptional off-road performance and agility. The SUV boasts a tight 5.5-metre turning radius, making it easy to maneuver both on city streets and rugged trails.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the Land Cruiser FJ houses a 2.7-litre petrol engine producing 160bhp and 246Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4WD system. The setup ensures solid off-road capabilities and dependable performance for everyday driving.
Design and Features
Measuring 4,575mm in length, 1,855mm in width, and 1,960mm in height, the FJ adopts a five-seat configuration. Toyota has equipped the SUV with high body rigidity, structural reinforcements, and enhanced suspension tuning for improved handling and ride comfort.
With its rugged design, off-road prowess, and compact dimensions, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ continues the brand’s legacy of reliability and adventure — a nameplate that has thrived for over 70 years with more than 12 million units sold globally.
