Honda Elevate EV Confirmed for India: First Electric SUV from Honda

Honda has officially confirmed the Elevate EV for India, marking an important step in the brand’s electric vehicle journey. The upcoming model will be Honda’s first fully electric SUV in the Indian market, with a launch expected in 2026.

The electric Elevate will be based on the existing petrol-powered SUV but will feature several EV-specific design changes. These are expected to include a closed-off front grille, updated bumpers, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and subtle styling elements that highlight its electric nature. Honda is likely to retain the SUV’s strong road presence while focusing on comfort and everyday usability. The Elevate EV will be offered as a five-seater, aimed at families and urban buyers.

A major highlight of the Honda ElevateEV will be its expected driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. This should make it practical for daily city driving as well as longer highway journeys. While official battery details have not been revealed, the SUV is expected to support fast charging and feature regenerative braking to improve efficiency.

Inside, the Elevate EV is likely to offer a modern and tech-focused cabin. Expected features include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, a digital instrument cluster, and a strong suite of safety features. Honda may also introduce V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) technology, enhancing connectivity and future readiness.

Honda has confirmed that the Elevate EV will be manufactured in India, with a strong focus on localisation. This strategy will help keep costs under control and position India as a key production hub for global markets.

With an expected price range of ₹14 lakh to ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda Elevate EV will take on rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6 and MG Windsor EV, strengthening competition in India’s mid-size electric SUV segment.
