The Triumph Tiger Sport 800 has officially arrived, and it represents a clear evolution over the smaller Triumph Tiger Sport 660. While the 660 earned praise for its balance of performance and practicality, the new 800 takes that formula and strengthens it in every key area — power, comfort, and features.
At the centre of this upgrade is a new 798cc inline three-cylinder engine. Producing up to 115 horsepower and around 84 Nm of torque, the Tiger Sport 800 delivers stronger acceleration and improved highway performance. Triumph claims that most of the torque is available in the mid-range, which means riders can enjoy smooth, effortless power without constantly shifting gears. Whether cruising on open highways or navigating twisty roads, the engine feels responsive yet refined.
Comfort has also been enhanced. The upright riding posture reduces strain on long journeys, while the adjustable windscreen improves wind protection at higher speeds. An 18.5-litre fuel tank offers a riding range of more than 380 kilometres, making it well suited for touring duties. These updates make the 800 a practical companion for both daily rides and weekend getaways.
Technology plays a big role in the package. Standard features include Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, cruise control for relaxed highway travel, and a slip-and-assist clutch for smoother gear changes. The updated suspension setup and revised ergonomics further improve stability and handling.
Weighing around 214 kg (wet), the Tiger Sport 800 strikes a confident balance between agility and long-distance comfort. With its stronger engine, added features, and improved touring focus, it stands out as a meaningful and powerful step forward from the 660.
