New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India has officially launched the G450d, expanding its G-Class portfolio with a new diesel-powered variant. Priced at ₹2.90 crore (ex-showroom), the G450d joins the existing petrol and electric versions, offering a powerful blend of off-road strength and modern luxury.
Powering the SUV is a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 362 bhp and 750 Nm of torque, with an additional 20 bhp boost from the integrated starter generator. Mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, the G450d sprints from 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

True to its legendary off-road DNA, the G450d features three differential locks, ladder-frame construction, adaptive damping, 241 mm ground clearance, 70 cm water-wading depth, and up to 100% gradability on suitable terrain.
The exterior sports subtle updates, including a new grille with four horizontal slats, reprofiled bumpers, A-pillar cladding, and a roof-edge spoiler. The SUV rides on 20-inch AMG alloy wheels finished in high-gloss black. Inside, Mercedes has upgraded the cabin with a new off-road cockpit, MBUX NTG7 infotainment with AR navigation, a 12.3-inch dual-screen layout, Nappa leather upholstery, Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, and ambient lighting.
Mercedes-Benz has announced that only 50 units of the G450d will be available in the first batch, adding an element of exclusivity to this luxury off-roader.
