India’s automotive market has witnessed Bajaj Auto’s impressive growth in electric scooters, with the Chetak 35 Series and 30 Series placing the company among the key players in the electric two-wheeler industry. Now, Bajaj aims to expand its presence with a Next-Gen model.
Spy shots of the Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak have surfaced, credited to automotive enthusiast Sai. Although the company has not announced a launch date, speculation points to 2026 for the new model’s arrival.
Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak Spied
This test mule of the Next-Gen Chetak differs notably with changes in the powertrain and cycle parts, justifying the Next-Gen label. Visually, the design carries forward much of the current silhouette, so changes are subtle.
Changes include a redesigned rear LED tail light unit combining brake lights and turn indicators. The number plate holder is updated, and a rear tyre hugger is now visible. The charging port’s location is unclear—possibly hidden or moved to the front apron.
Heavy camouflage obscures the side body panel changes, but the panels appear revised. The rear grab rail seems unchanged, while the seat now features a flatter profile. The front continues to use similar LED headlights and DRLs, with the original Chetak logo replaced by lettering. Turn indicators move from the apron to the handlebar area.
Mid-Level Variant
This spy shot likely shows a mid-level variant, possibly a Next-Gen Chetak 3502 or 3002. Evidence includes a front disc brake but absence of advanced features and components. The rear wheel has a hub motor, which current Chetak models lack.
Keyless go and TFT screen features are missing. Instead, the display appears to be a new non-circular LCD cluster, accompanied by updated switchgear. This mid-level variant lacks fancy ORVM stalks and replaces the single-sided suspension standard with conventional twin telescopic forks upfront and twin shocks at the rear (unconfirmed).
Bajaj has kept changes in line with the original Chetak’s design while injecting modern touches. Higher variants will likely feature fancier upgrades. The scooter could use a 3 kWh or 3.5 kWh battery pack, offering up to 150 km on a single charge.
